Wasn't a deal breaker for us at all, but my recommendation would be to test all the heaters/lights/sauna right when you get there, so you are not caught in a situation where it is too cold, or you can't see at night. One concern with the cabin---the stairs going up to the loft are steep. Also, everything I said above is subject to change after tourism in the area kicks back up. Same with Divide Lake--closed campground, nice loop trail, near the water almost the whole time. The view is second to none. Beyond that, you have the area all to yourself, and maybe some forest critters. Canoe, kayaks, 20 miles north of Marquette in the U.P. And just a few things about the space: don’t let the compostable toilet scare you, it’s absolutely clean and odorless and very user friendly. We slept upstairs, but we opted to leave our luggage on the first floor. Go early and/or late and there won't be anyone there. And just be aware that there is a very steep set of stairs up to the loft and sleeping area, so if you are unstable, or have a fear of climbing up steep ladders, you might want to sleep on the futon on the main floor. We didn't see anyone on that hike either--the cars in the lot most likely were long-distance through hikers. We never got the sauna to work despite being pretty confident the pilot light was lit. Wood burning sauna. Fire pit with cooking grill and dutch oven.
