Ambiance is an Asian theme and slightly dimly lit, appropriate for a romantic setting. Such a beautiful night!I went to Sakada for dinner after Uptown Saturday Event on San Marcos. The owner came by a few times to check on us and chat. I wouldn't even care if the food was good and the owner apologized for the long wait. The waitress was arguing with the cooks in the back and the sushi chef was missing in action. Don't get me wrong--this place is perfectly fine. ... Saint Augustine Roll. The general tso was very tasty with tons of star anise. Always great food, and fresh sushi. Nothing that should take long at all.

I've tried their Thai dishes, Chinese, and teppanyaki grill items in the past, but my more recent visits have been for sushi. Fax n.d. Help us improve this service. For entree we got the General Tso chicken which was frozen breaded chicken coated in a extremely sweet sauce. So....they do a great job all around with the variety they serve. I'll be back again and again. I had the best party ever in 2018 in Sakada. We had a party of ten: artists, musicians, and photographers. Sent back and went hibachi which was good but noticed randomn weirdo assuming owner came out from back and just stared at me. On this visit, my wife and I ordered our own Kani Salad as not to fight over one dish!I come here regularly as I am local.
She took our drink order and then literally slid the cups across the table at us. We ordered our food and chose the most expensive sushi entree on the menu and appetizers. They were very accommodating. Cool 1. The couple next to us told us they had been there over 90 minutes and still didn't have their entree. Excellent food and service. The outside is misleading as the inside is very 'Asianly charming'. Everything (including the bathroom) was clean. Our waitress who is also an owner was so rude.
She pointed out that the menu had four sections, not including lunch: (1) The Chinese food side (American Chinese food); (2) the Japanese food side; (3) the Thai food; and, the sushi/sashimi, tied into the Japanese side.

Get delivery from Sakada Japanese Steak House super-fast to your door. They allowed us to bring in a cake and they helped us by taking pictures and made the occasion memorable.
