As with my first introduction to Corfu and the Durrells in Like a gentle sea breeze, Gerald Durrell has created a setting that is meditative, soothing and pure pleasure. THE AUTHOR RELATES HIS EXPERIENCES AT THE AGE OF 10, BEFORE WORLD WAR II, WHEN HE AND HIS FAMILY LIVED ON THE ISLAND OF CORFU. Just like the first one, I enjoyed most of the nature/ animal writing and observations. Makes me want to move to Corfu in those simpler times.
